Target: Grade 3-8
Students in grades 3 to 8 take the State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics tests each spring. Students will become familiar with the test format through practice at ReadingTown. It will take away the fear of the unknown aspect of the test and build confidence in students. Our ELA Test Prep workbooks, which are CCSS-aligned, consist of two categories: Nonfiction and Open-Ended for thorough coverage of all parts of the exam. Along with our Math Test Prep workbooks, we provide students with CCSS-aligned supplemental materials for a complete preparation.
Many school districts offer opportunities for children to take a test such as the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT), Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) or Naglieri Non-Verbal Ability Test (NNAT). The test score is then used to decide whether a child qualifies for a GATE program.
One way to measure the mastery is to use the first few items in each activity as a pre-test. Using the pre-test technique will give a good idea of where the child’s strengths and weaknesses are across the skills and abilities the material covers.
GATE Test prep course introduces your child to a wide range of thinking skills and activity formats covered on most IQ and achievement tests, infused with standards-based curriculum. Wel provide invaluable preparation that will lead to higher test scores, and success beyond the test date. GATE Test prep course is offered in January.
